Project Description
Broken Iris, a band that faded from the music scene in 2007, helped shape the evolution of ambient rock. Their logo and visual identity have remained unchanged since then. With the band’s resurgence in 2021—releasing new songs and continuing under a single remaining member—a refreshed identity felt necessary.

The Challenge
For this project, I took it upon myself to create a new visual identity and logo design for the band. The main challenge was reimagining the existing logo while also developing an icon that could be integrated into the design and stand alone for use on merchandise, the website, and social media.

My Solution
For the logo, I opted for the Gotham Book typeface, drawn to its modern style that seamlessly complemented the band's ambient aesthetic. Placing the icon in place of the "o" was a deliberate choice, creating a meaningful effect that conveyed the concept of looking through the "broken" eye of the band. This design decision aimed to enhance the visual impact and resonance of Broken Iris's brand identity.
